details on 2012 program coming in the spring... here's what we did last year:
FUN WITH ART at the MERA Schoolhouse
Looking for something creative and enjoyable for your children or grandchildren this summer? Now is the time to enrol them in MERA’s Art Camp for children at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonalds Corners, which takes place from Monday, July 25 to Friday, July 29, from 10 am – 3 pm each day. Artmaker Janice Ling is the Camp Director at this very popular camp, suitable for children aged five to twelve, and the theme this year is "Ideas & Designs". During this creative week, children learn some intriguing history of human inventions, designs and how they influence globally the way we live. Kids create cultural designs using paints, stained glass, rocks, clay, and paper. Some basics in design will be taught and techniques learned to create structural sound shapes. Children can learn how to make moving objects (animal/catapults) out of paper. On the Friday there will be a Children’s Design Fair, where kids will display their own innovative designs and models. The cost this year has been reduced to $125/child to open the camp to a wider audience. For more information and a registration form, please email meraschoolhouse@bell.net or phone 613-278-0388.
